WE’RE LOOKING FOR A BAKER

Sugar Daddies Gluten Free Bakery, a local Cambridge bakery is looking to hire full-time help in Cambridge (Galt).  This is a full-time position and requires flexibility of working during the day, or evening hours. Weekend work may also be required.

The baker position is responsible for making everything from scratch, producing many baked items on a daily basis for retail and wholesale fulfillment.

Main Job Duties are described below:

• Prioritize cleanliness, following HACCP, Health, and Workplace Safety standards at all times
• Prepare dry ingredients/baking pastries, bread, frostings, and fillings according to recipes or special custom orders
• Bake mixed selection of bakery items, preparing food specific to gluten-free best practices
• Work as part of a small team to bake following carefully crafted gluten-free, sugar-free recipes.
• Be responsible for reading production schedules and recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients, moulding and shaping dough, decorating cakes, and cupcakes etc, and processing everything through the ovens.
• Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and contribute to a great customer experience.

On occasion you may be asked to perform the following:

• Coordinate delivery schedules and customer pickups

Qualifications:

• Safe food handling certification
• Commercial or kitchen/baking experience
• Professional Cake decorating experience (minimum 2 years)
• Physical ability to stand long hours and lift 25kg (50 lbs)
• Culinary/baking/pastry arts degree/diploma preferred
• Previous experience working in gluten-free environment preferred
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Proven track record as a self-starter; dedicated and goal orientated
• Ability to follow established company policies
• Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written
